Many many many thank yous to everyone who helped make the December 12th fundraiser at Lucy's an ENORMOUS success: Team Meghan raised $1800!

For those who were unable to attend, here is what you missed ...

Lucy's, a surfer themed restaurant/bar in mid-town Manhattan, kindly arranged for the event to take over their main room.  About 35 people attended and participated in five exhilarating rounds of trivia.  How much do you know about geography? Famous Frank's? Sports? Music? Everything? Well, a team of four Cornellians knows a lot about these things and snagged the $100 Ticketmaster gift certificates.  In the name of fun, even Meghan called in to answer a few questions. FUN!

In addition to the food at Lucy's, the amazing vegan restaurant Terri donated delicious eats including the highly raved about "meatball" sub.  Mmmmm ...
Also, the evening's auction featured some generously donated items including Jazz tickets at Lincoln Center, sports memorabilia, and hockey tickets.

And of course, an extra thank you to Tara Hatami and Mike Paleos for organizing the event.

There will be more fundraisers in the not too distant future.

The minimum donation is $20 with a suggested donation of $50 [although any contribution small or large would be greatly appreciated]. This will help cover event costs with all remaining proceeds going directly to Meghan.

December in New York: we have been raking the leaves, jumping in the pile, and then drinking hot apple cider with cinnamon.  And also, we have been cleaning up the websites and hopefully, making it easier to navigate and donate.  More to come! [Perhaps featuring more vegetables.]

Dear Friends,

I wrote several months ago to ask for your support for my friend Meghan, who was undergoing treatment for cervical cancer. We’ve just learned that in spite of treatment, the tumor has spread aggressively, and that her prognosis is very poor. She is in the midst of making difficult treatment decisions with her physicians and family.


As a group, me, Adam Romero and Tara Hatami have pledged to raise $15,000, enough to cover her bills and debt. After talking to Meghan, we believe that this will alleviate any undue financial burden that she feels, and will allow her to focus on her health and comfort.


Anyone who has known Meghan has experienced her amazing gifts of humor and wit...her effortless ability to turn a bad situation around and make you smile. She can brighten your day just by passing by. She still fighting and making people laugh every day, in spite of it all.


Our friends are our biography. They carry the stories of our lives.
We live through our friends. We die with our friends.


During our last campaign you helped us to raise $1267.03, which helped Meghan tremendously. I’m asking again for your support, as a tribute to this extraordinary individual, and as a pledge to cherish the gift of friendship.

Just talked to Meghan and she says she's feeling really good. She's responding really well to her treatment and may even be able to go back to Ithaca for a few days next week if she continues to improve.
